The Waiting-Time Paradox

Suppose that you are going to school and arrive at a bus stop. How long do have wait before the next arrives? Surprisingly, it is longer—possibly much longer—than what might guess from looking schedule. This phenomenon, which called waiting-time paradox, has purely mathematical origin. In this article, we explore explain why occurs, discuss some of its implications (beyond possibility being late for school).
