چکیده
This work on outdoor thermal comfort tends to highlight and affirm the contribution of vegetation in a climatically hostile environment by being very hot dry, this effect creating more forgiving microclimate terms atmosphere was highlighted simulations situ measurements, semi-open public space with set mature ficus retusa trees that we cut later, way, it gives us an unexpected important opportunity for intangible conclusion means comparison, within same space, other words, morphological characteristics but two different states; case "A" presence "B" after these have been cut. led deduce influence persistent such environment; measurements were made before just cutting trees. The index (UTCI) calculated from microclimatic factors, themselves dependent indices, carried out variations index, is, indicator both cases. In end, confirms great shade located at university campus Biskra.

The Universal Thermal Climate Index UTCI in Operational Use
The Universal Thermal Climate Index UTCI provides an assessment of the outdoor thermal environment in bio-meteorological applications based on the equivalence of the dynamic physiological response predicted by a model of human thermoregulation, which was coupled with a state-of-the-art clothing model. The operational procedure, which is available as software from the UTCI website (www.utci.org)...
متن کاملThe Universal Thermal Climate Index UTCI compared to ergonomics standards for assessing the thermal environment.
The growing need for valid assessment procedures of the outdoor thermal environment in the fields of public weather services, public health systems, urban planning, tourism & recreation and climate impact research raised the idea to develop the Universal Thermal Climate Index UTCI based on the most recent scientific progress both in thermo-physiology and in heat exchange theory. Following exten...
متن کاملApplicability of Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) in occupational heat stress assessment: a case study in brick industries
The present study aimed to investigate the applicability of Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) as an innovative and science-based index in public health researches, in occupational heat stress assessment. All indoor and outdoor workers (200 people) of Brick industries of Shahroud, Iran participated in the research. First, the environmental variables such as air temperature, wet-bulb tempera...
متن کاملGlobal forecasting of thermal health hazards: the skill of probabilistic predictions of the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI)
Although over a hundred thermal indices can be used for assessing thermal health hazards, many ignore the human heat budget, physiology and clothing. The Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) addresses these shortcomings by using an advanced thermo-physiological model. This paper assesses the potential of using the UTCI for forecasting thermal health hazards. Traditionally, such hazard forecas...
متن کاملUTCI--why another thermal index?
Existing procedures for the assessment of the thermal environment in the fields of public weather services, public health systems, precautionary planning, urban design, tourism and recreation and climate impact research exhibit significant shortcomings. This is most evident for simple (mostly two-parameter) indices, when comparing them to complete heat budget models developed since the 1960s. I...
