The Task-Based Approach to Teaching Critical Thinking for Computer Science Students

Critical thinking (CT) is one of the most important 21st-century skills that employers believe will grow in prominence. However, many higher education (HE) graduates often lack it. This also true for computer science (CS) and related disciplines, who need CT to drive social organizational digitalization. There are a number strategies teaching CT. there no evidence regarding how effectively teach CS. To address this gap, study proposes an educational approach aims promote students CS disciplines. An experiment using was conducted two modules with similar content. The written reflections 11 on their development quantitative data students’ self-assessments dispositions before (N = 20) after 11) were analyzed. Priority given qualitative data. results support hypothesis proposed has positive impact perceived skills.
