The stability of inviscid Beltrami flow between parallel free-slip impermeable boundaries

چکیده
We present a family of exact inviscid three-dimensional Beltrami flows in horizontally periodic domain lying between two parallel free-slip boundaries. Significantly, these are not stress free: the horizontal vorticity varies on each boundary. Using direct numerical simulations (employing hyperdiffusion only for stability), we find that largest-scale member is unstable and breaks down into anisotropic turbulence, with relatively large at near boundary, associated surface frontal features. conjecture all members similarly unstable. The boundaries play an important role late stages instability by constraining deformation vortex lines This study appears to be first consider boundary context.

determination of maximal singularity free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulator
due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...

where R1 and R2 are, respectively, the radii of the inner and the outer cylinders. The presence of viscosity inhibits the onset of instability and condition (3) must be violated by a certain determinate extent before instability can arise. The extent of this inhibition has been considered by a number of authors since G. I. Taylor first investigated the problem.1 The equations of viscous flow al...

Effect of nonlinear thermal radiation on the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic slip flow of Casson fluid between parallel disks in the presence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion effects are investigated numerically. A similarity transformation is employed to reduce the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Further, Runge-Kutta and Newton’s methods are ado...
متن کاملOn the Stability of Inviscid Parallel Shear Flows with a Free Surface
We consider the linear stability of inviscid parallel shear flow with a free surface. Gravity is included in the analysis, but surface tension is not. We focus on several specific profiles including Poiseuille flow and various profiles with inflection points. Instabilities are found in all the profiles we studied. At neutral limiting modes, the wave speed of the disturbance is equal to one of t...
متن کاملTunable-slip boundaries for coarse-grained simulations of fluid flow.
On the micro- and nanoscale, classical hydrodynamic boundary conditions such as the no-slip condition no longer apply. Instead, the flow profiles exhibit "slip" at the surface, which is characterized by a finite slip length (partial slip). We present a new, systematic way of implementing partial-slip boundary conditions with arbitrary slip length in coarse-grained computer simulations. The main...
