The social identity perspective of social media leadership in collective action participation

This study examines the Gezi Park protests in Turkey by corroborating idea that process of social identity leadership through media contributes to formation protestor identity, which, turn, allows people participate collective action. Specifically, we argued evaluations posts terms three dimensions Identity-Leadership Model (ILM)—identity prototypicality, advancement and entrepreneurship leaders, play a crucial role action participation via identification with newly shaped group.
