The Seasonal Fluctuation of Timber Prices in Hyrcanian Temperate Forests, Northern Iran

Seasonal fluctuations play an important role in the pricing of a timber sale. A good understanding price mechanisms and predictability market would be very practical for forest owners, managers, investors, is crucial correct functioning sector. This research aimed to analyze effect sale season on (sawlog lumber) prices high-value species groups (e.g., oriental beech, chestnut-leaved oak, common alder, velvet maple, hornbeam) Hyrcanian temperate forests (Northern Iran). The data were collected from official documents Azarroud Forestry Plan 1992 2015. relevant 592 lots at roadside extracted into set. Then, average per season/year quarterly frequency calculated. In doing so, two-time series seasonal sawlog lumber was obtained. stationarity time statistically verified using augmented Dickey–Fuller test. seasons first analyzed multiple linear regression analysis dummy variables. results showed that autumn summer have significant positive 6.5% 6.1%, respectively.
