چکیده
Urban trees and forests are one of the main tools available in cities to face current future environmental challenges ultimately promote well-being. More than half world’s population lives nowadays. This rural exodus resulted from a pursuit better life quality. However, urban increase led new levels complexity. Such complexity calls for multifunctional solutions such as Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Trees at core NbS, all ecosystem services they provide. Nevertheless, managing them is challenging requires both empirical knowledge practitioners deep scientific understanding tree’s structure function. special issue on “Urban Trees” advances our their services, tolerance resilience environment, possible disservices, steps forward proposals trees. It clear literature studies this that decision-making must be supported by evidence well-being cities.

Urban Green Space Perception and Its Contribution to Well-Being
Individual perceptions are essential when evaluating the well-being benefits from urban green spaces. This study predicted the influence of perceived green space characteristics in the city of Szeged, Hungary, on two well-being variables: the green space visitors' level of satisfaction and the self-reported quality of life. The applied logistic regression analysis used nine predictors: seven pe...

Security is one of the most critical factors affecting the quality of urban spaces. Nowadays, most of these spaces have become merely pathways with neither social life nor sense of belonging to it. Insufficiency of public surveillance along with weak sense of control and surveillance results in spaces with high crime rate. In the late 60s and early 70s, high crime statistics in open urban space...
متن کاملThe role of urban green space for human well - being *
Most people in Europe live in urban environments. For these people, urban green space is an important element of well-being, but it is often in short supply. We use self-reported information on life satisfaction and different individual green space measures to explore how urban green space affects the well-being of the residents of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. We combine spatially expli...
متن کاملQuantifying the Well-Being Benefits of Urban Green Space
A quasi-real time approach is used to investigate the relative influence of urban green space on individual’s experienced well-being. Using a diary-style survey instrument (the Day Reconstruction Method; Kahneman et al., 2004) combined with personal GPS trackers, the influence that visual exposure to natural and urban features has on the emotional experiences of everyday trips and activities is...
