The roles of high conservation value area to support biodiversity conservation in Indonesia

Abstract Oil palm plantations are often considered as one of the causes decline in biodiversity. Conversion forest land to oil is main factor. However, legally, conversion can be carried out and plantation companies have also protected areas that high conservation value, including important animal habitats. The purpose this study assess role value was conducted on several Indonesia by conducting a literature review documents companies. High determined based presence endangered animals such proboscis monkeys orangutans. With stipulation area HCV area, these becomes more concerned because company has responsibility monitor animals.
