The role of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes in tumor progression

چکیده
Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-Exos) are nano-sized extracellular vesicles enriched with bioactive molecules, such as microRNAs, enzymes, cytokines, chemokines, immunomodulatory, trophic, and growth factors. These molecules regulate the survival, phenotype, function of malignant tumor-infiltrated immune cells. Due to their nano-size bilayer lipid envelope, MSC-Exos can easily bypass biological barriers may serve drug carriers deliver chemotherapeutics directly into tumor Here, we summarize current knowledge regarding molecular mechanisms responsible for MSC-Exos-dependent modulation progression discuss insights therapeutic potential in treatment diseases.

Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes facilitate nasopharyngeal carcinoma progression.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which are capable of differentiating into multiple cell types, are reported to exert multiple effects on tumor development. However, the relationship between MSCs and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells remains unclear. Exosomes are small membrane vesicles that can be released by several cell types, including MSCs. Exosomes, which can carry membrane and cytoplasm...
متن کاملDevelopment and Application of Mesenchymal Stem Cell-derived Exosomes in Cartilage Tissue Repair
Background and Aim: Cartilage defects treatment is one of the most common clinical challenges in orthopedics. The current management techniques help to control symptom and joint function. The cell-free approach to cartilage regeneration through paracrine action has been considered to accelerate and facilitate the healing process and the importance of its urgency in the recovery of military pe...
متن کاملBM mesenchymal stromal cell-derived exosomes facilitate multiple myeloma progression.
BM mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) support multiple myeloma (MM) cell growth, but little is known about the putative mechanisms by which the BM microenvironment plays an oncogenic role in this disease. Cell-cell communication is mediated by exosomes. In this study, we showed that MM BM-MSCs release exosomes that are transferred to MM cells, thereby resulting in modulation of tumor growth in...
متن کاملStem cell-derived exosomes: roles in stromal remodeling, tumor progression, and cancer immunotherapy
Stem cells are known to maintain stemness at least in part through secreted factors that promote stem-like phenotypes in resident cells. Accumulating evidence has clarified that stem cells release nano-vesicles, known as exosomes, which may serve as mediators of cell-to-cell communication and may potentially transmit stem cell phenotypes to recipient cells, facilitating stem cell maintenance, d...
متن کاملExosomes Derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells
The functional mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have become a research focus in recent years. Accumulating evidence supports the notion that MSCs act in a paracrine manner. Therefore, the biological factors in conditioned medium, including exosomes and soluble factors, derived from MSC cultures are being explored extensively. The results from most investigations show that MSC-conditi...
