The Role of Lignin Structure on Cellulase Adsorption and Enzymatic Hydrolysis

Lignin is one of the important components lignocellulosic cell walls, which endows plant walls with rigidity and strength protects them from microbial invasion. The presence lignin thought to hinder conversion biomass bioenergy, so understanding enzyme-lignin interactions very in order reduce inhibition improve hydrolysis yields. Conversion raw materials into bioethanol divided pretreatment, enzymatic hydrolysis, fermentation. In this paper, both pretreatment lignocellulose are described detail. Finally, reasons why hinders efficiency, mainly forming spatial barriers interacting cellulase, discussed, influencing factors mechanisms action cellulase explored a view targeted regulation structure saccharification.
