چکیده
We estimate the price elasticity of residential district heating demand in Denmark using Blundell–Bond two-step generalized method moments (GMM) estimator and a sample 152,913 observations covering period 2015 to 2019. Moreover, we analyze heterogeneity response increases among various household groups investigate distributional consequences policies that increase heating. To this end, measure effects on bills, consumption, emissions. find short-run −0.530 long-run −0.638. Higher consumption levels are associated with dwelling age, size, homeownership, income, number members, whether households receive allowances. significant evidence varies across groups: Low-income households, intensive consumers, single older smaller dwellings more responsive changes than their respective counterparts. also demonstrate 10% would expenditures high-income low-income by 7.18% 1.16% (ceteris paribus), respectively. Our findings therefore have important implications for evaluation aimed at reducing emissions impacts such measures.

Heating Demand in the Residential Sector: Tackling the Enigma of Low Price Elasticity of Homeowners’ Expenses1
Th is paper presents fi ndings from our study which explored the price elasticities for domestic space heating energy of households in Germany. We focus upon the diff erence in price elasticities between homeowners and tenants found in previous studies in order to further elaborate on this. Using panel data from the GSOEP we perform fi xed eff ects and OLS regressions to examine the infl uencin...

We introduce a measure of elasticity of stochastic demand, called the elasticity of the lost-sales rate, which offers a unifying perspective on the well-known newsvendor with pricing problem. This new concept provides a framework to characterize structural results for coordinated and uncoordinated pricing and inventory strategies. Concavity and submodularity of the profit function, as well as s...
متن کاملThe Price Elasticity of Marijuana Demand
This paper uses crowd-sourced transaction data from a cross-section of the US to examine demand for marijuana. State and regional variations in consumption, price and quality are explored. Price elasticity of demand estimates range between -0.3 and -0.6. Noticeable price differences are found between high, medium, and low quality marijuana, with high quality marijuana, at $13.57 per gram, 144% ...
متن کاملPrice elasticity of demand for broadband: Evidence from Latin America and the Caribbean
In this study the authors analyze fixed broadband retail prices in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and provide estimates about the effect of price changes on broadband adoption. The analysis is based on a survey of plans and tariffs conducted by the authors during Q2 2010. Their results suggest that fixed broadband services in LAC are generally expensive and of poor quality when benchmar...
