چکیده

Background/aim: The aim of this study is to determine the value questions asked in routine follow-up, cord blood bilirubin (CBB) and bilirubin/albumin (B/A) ratio estimating risk developing hyperbilirubinemia. Materials methods: Term healthy 217 newborns whose CBB albumin could be obtained needed measured level at 24th 72nd hours life were included. Nutrition, sex nationality, consanguinity between parents, jaundice sibling (s), mother's medications questioned. albumin, serum total (STB), transcutaneous (TcB) life, recorded. Results: B/A ratio, STB TcB found higher babies who received phototherapy (p < 0.001 for all). moderate positive correlation (correlation coefficient 0.383) hour strong 0.759) measurements was detected. In need sensitivity specificity 74.2% 56.5%, specifity 74.2%, 61.8%. cut-off 1.8, 0.56. When 1.8 CCB 0.56, predictive values are low, but negative significantly high (92.9% 93.5%, respectively) determining phototherapy. Conclusion: important predicting possibility indirect hyperbilirubinemia (IHB) development. Babies should followed closely terms IHB development when their mg/dL above, 0.56 above.

Predictive value of umbilical cord serum bilirubin for subsequent jaundice in healthy term newborns

. Introduction: Jaundice is common in neonatal period and in severe type cause neurotoxicity (Kernicterus), so diagnosis and treatment of severe hyperbilirubinemia is very important. This study investigates the predictive value of umbilical cord serum bilirubin (UCSB) for subsequent jaundice in healthy term newborns. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 341 normal term (gestational age>37 we...

Umbilical Cord Bilirubin Level as a Predictive Indicator of Neonatal Jaundice

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Neonatal jaundice is a major problem among infants in the first weeks of life. Research on several indicators of severe neonatal jaundice including alpha-fetoprotein and umbilical cord bilirubin level has indicated contradictory results. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the significance of umbilical cord bilirubin level as a predictive indicator ...

Does umbilical cord bilirubin level have predictive value in pathologic neonatal hyperbilirubinemia?

Introduction The increase in the use of breast feeding and the decrease in mothers' hospitalization in the past few years have caused  an increase in the infant bilirubin level, so it is necessary to introduce methods which can identify infants with higher risks of hyperbiliru binemia. The aim of this study is to determine the predictive value of measuring the umbilical cord bilirubin for patho...

Evaluation of the Predictive Value of Umbilical Cord Serum Bilirubin Level for the Development of Subsequent Hyperbilirubinemia in Term and Late-Preterm Neonates

Background: Considering the increasing rates of early hospital discharge and kernicterus in healthy full term newborns, timely identification of neonates at risk of severe hyperbilirubinemia is of great significance. The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive value of umbilical cord serum (UCS) bilirubin level for subsequent hyperbilirubinemia. Moreover, we compared the predictive ...

Umbilical cord bilirubin as a predictor of neonatal jaundice: a retrospective cohort study

BACKGROUND Hyperbilirubinaemia is a major cause of neonatal morbidity. Early identification of those infants most at risk might allow the development of targeted primary preventative therapy and follow-up. The objective of this study was to assess whether arterial umbilical cord bilirubin (aUCB) level at delivery predicts the development of neonatal jaundice in term deliveries. METHODS Retros...
