Tumor suppressor genes are highly affected during the development of leukemia, including circadian clock genes. Circadian rhythms constitute an evolutionary molecular machinery involving many genes, such as BMAL1, CLOCK, CRY1, CRY2, PER1, PER2, REV-ERBa, and RORA, for tracking time optimizing daily life day-night cycles seasonal changes. For circulating blood cells these coordinate their proliferation, output, function, therein lies importance leukemia. Recent findings suggest that environmental pollutants may affect thus cancer treatment. Such often found in mixtures include benzene, tobacco smoke, pesticides microplastics. Our understanding basis interaction mechanisms within complex is also growing, confirming plausible occurrence synergistic (superadditive effect) antagonistic (cancellation actions pollutant cocktails. In this work, we discuss relationship alteration potentially cause We highlight need additional dimensions perhaps a paradigm shift future studies relation to continuously growing magnitude pollution using multitude disciplines high throughput reporter cell lines, other screening methods, contaminant measurements leukemia patients, advanced pharmacology toxicological measurement efficient computer analysis artificial intelligence, among others.
