چکیده

Abstract Background Migraine is a common, chronic, multifactorial neurovascular disorder. It may result in hypoperfusion of other areas than the brain, as eye. lead to change retinal nerve fiber layers (RNFL) thickness and axonal loss even up severe damage eye structures, including retina with frequent headache attacks. This study aimed quantify RNFL which gives good idea about condition axons ganglion cells migraine patients. Also, detect if there any correlation between these measurements clinical characteristics migraine. Results The was significantly thinner patients compared healthy controls all quadrants both sides ( p value < 0.05). However, no significant difference aura without > intensity negatively correlated inferior r = − 0.342, P 0.031) nasal 0.349, 0.027) on LT side, also positive nausea tolerability RT superior quadrant 0.467, 0.002); 0.322, 0.043), respectively, but found disability, attacks duration, disease duration frequency Conclusion main conclusion our work that affected comparison controls, were impact aura, severity, frequency, or thickness.

Is Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness Change Related to Headache Lateralization in Migraine?

PURPOSE To evaluate retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in migraine patients with unilateral headache. METHODS A total of 58 patients diagnosed with migraine headache consistently occurring on the same side and 58 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects were evaluated in this cross-sectional study. RNFL thickness was measured using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, and the si...

The Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness is Related to Severity of Parkinson’s Disease

Introduction: We investigated correlation between the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness and the severity of Parkinson's disease (PD). Methods: In this study, the RNFL thickness of 23 patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) was compared to normal controls (NCs). PD severity was assessed by the MDS-UPDRS (movement disorder society Unified Parkinson Disea...
