The Performance of Fibrous CDC Electrodes in Aqueous and Non-Aqueous Electrolytes

The aim of this study was to investigate the electrochemical behaviour aqueous electrolytes on thin-layer (20 µm) nanoporous carbide-derived carbon (CDC) composite fibrous directly electrospun electrodes without further carbonisation. There have been previously investigated electrodes, which are produced by applying different post-treatment processes, however makes production more expensive, complex and time consuming. Furthermore, in present high specific capacitance achieved with CDC-based neutral electrolytes. benefit is advanced mechanical properties compared existing commercial electrode technologies based pressure-rolled or slurry-cast powder mix electrodes. Such improved preferred demanding applications, such as space industry. Electrospinning technology also allows for larger capacities increased costs. In addition influence electrolyte chemical composition, salt concentration effects cycle stability respect organic investigated. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements showed highest asymmetrical cells an 1 M NaNO3-H2O electrolyte.
