The Mass Accretion Rate and Stellar Properties in Class I Protostars

چکیده
Abstract Stars collect most of their mass during the protostellar stage, yet accretion luminosity and stellar parameters, which are needed to compute rate, poorly constrained for youngest sources. The aim this work is fill gap, computing properties rates a large sample Class I protostars located in nearby (<500 pc) star-forming regions analyzing interplay. We used self-consistent method provide parameters by modeling spectral energy distribution using veiling information from near-IR observations when possible. calculated first time 50 young stars. focused our analysis on 39 confirmed protostars, finding that rate varies between ∼10 −8 −4 M ⊙ yr −1 range ∼0.1 3 . find systematically larger than II objects. Although we found high, it still suggests either stars before or eruptive overall phase. Indeed, results suggest number disk can be unstable, result bursts fragmentation past future.

Stellar and Circumstellar Properties of Class I Protostars
We present a study of the stellar and circumstellar properties of Class I sources using low-resolution (R∼1000) near-infrared Kand L-band spectroscopy. We measure prominent spectral lines and features in 8 objects and use fits to standard star spectra to determine spectral types, visual extinctions, K-band excesses, and water ice optical depths. Four of the seven systems studied are close binar...
متن کاملAccretion Discs, Low-mass Protostars and Planets: Probing the Impact of Magnetic Fields on Stellar Formation
Whereas the understanding of most phases of stellar evolution made considerable progress throughout the whole of the twentieth century, stellar formation remained rather enigmatic and poorly constrained by observations until about three decades ago, when major discoveries (e.g., that protostars are often associated with highly collimated jets) revolutionized the field. At this time, it became i...
متن کاملStellar Properties of Embedded Protostars
Protostars are precursors to the nearly fully assembled T-Tauri and Herbig Ae/Be type stars undergoing quasi-static contraction towards the zero-age main sequence; they are in the process of acquiring the majority of their stellar mass. Although numerous young stars with spatially extended envelope-like structures appear to fit this description, their high extinction has inhibited observers fro...
متن کاملLow-rate accretion onto single stellar mass black holes
Magnetic field behaviour in a spherically-symmetric accretion flow for parameters typical of single black holes in the Galaxy is discussed. It is shown that in the majority of Galaxy volume accretion onto single stellar mass black hole will be spherical and have low accretion rate (10−6 − 10−9 of Eddington one). A correct analysis of plasma internal energy growth during the fall is performed. A...
