The link between Pos-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Childbirth

Introduction Childbirth can be experienced as distressing or even traumatic for some women and her partners, which could cause psychological distress, intense fear helplessness increases the risk of anxiety, depression post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The reported prevalence after childbirth ranges from 1.5% to 6%. Objectives current study aimed elaborate a narrative literature review identify predictors associated development PTSD in partners. Methods PubMed database searched using terms “post-traumatic disorder” “childbirth” “trauma”. Only research conducted past 20 years was considered inclusion. Results Several variables were with childbirth, including negative experiences severe subjetive previous abortion, difficulties pregnancy, psychiatric problems, history trauma. Futhermore, obstretic birth-related factors such pregnancy complications, type birth also contribute Additionally, diferent environmental like poor interaction between provider mother, low social support during labour are PTSD. Conclusions Clinicians should aware that many parterns have following childbirth. We need routine clinical practice carefully monitored patients high risk. Disclosure Interest None Declared
