چکیده

Weed infestations significantly reduce the growth and yield of field crops. Herbicides are mostly used for weed management due to their quick results. However, resistant biotypes available herbicides rapidly increasing around word. This situation calls development alternative strategies. Crop rotation allelopathic water extracts regarded as most important Therefore, this two-year study assessed impact different annual crop rotations by strategies’ interactions on infestation productivity wheat crop. Wheat was planted in five rotations, i.e., (i) fallow-wheat, (ii) rice-wheat, (iii) cotton-wheat, (iv) mungbean-wheat (v) sorghum-wheat. The strategies included were; false seedbed, application 12 L ha?1 plant (1:1:1:1 ratio sorghum, sunflower, mulberry eucalyptus), herbicide application, weed-free (weed control) weedy-check (no control). Herbicide effective treatment lowering densities biomass during both years followed while were least effective. lowest noted sorghum-wheat cotton-wheat mungbean-wheat, fallow-wheat had highest infestation. Weedy-check caused significant reduction yield, whereas grain recorded from treatments. Grain after sorghum suppressed; however, improved when mungbean. Planting mungbean a environment, achieved through chemical and/or mechanical means, is best strategy obtain higher yields.

Integrated Effect of Seed Rates and Weed Management Treatments in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Abstract: Increased crop density and use of herbicides are two important components of integrated weed management program in wheat but no much information is available on combined effects of these two treatments. A field experiment was conducted to determine the interaction effect of increasing seed rates and weed management treatments on monocot and dicot weeds, grain and straw yield and uptak...

Effect of tillage systems on weed infestation of durum wheat

Weed infestation of durum wheat was determined in the systems of conventional tillage(CT), reduced tillage (RT) and herbicide tillage (HT). Cultivations measures performed after theharvest of the previous crop included shallow ploughing (at a depth of 10-12 cm) and pre-winterploughing (25-30 cm) in the CT system; only field cultivation (10-15 cm) in the RT system; andspraying with glyphosate (R...
