چکیده
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a serious problem for public health since it was identified in the province of Wuhan (China) and spread around world producing high mortality rates economic losses. Nowadays, WHO recognizes traditional, complementary, alternative medicine treating COVID-19 symptoms. Therefore, we investigated antiviral potential hydroalcoholic extract Uncaria tomentosa stem bark from Peru against SARS-CoV-2 vitro. activity U. vitro assessed Vero E6 cells using cytopathic effect (CPE) plaque reduction assay. After 48 h treatment, showed an inhibition 92.7% at 25.0 ?g/mL ( p < 0.0001 ) by assay on cells. In addition, induced 98.6% id="M2"> = 0.02 id="M3"> 0.03 CPE caused 25 12.5 ?g/mL, respectively. EC50 calculated 6.6 (4.89–8.85 ?g/mL) selectivity index 4.1. TCID50 2.57 (1.05–3.75 10.54. These results that tomentosa, known as cat's claw, SARS-CoV-2, which observed viral titer after treatment hypothesized could be promising development new therapeutic strategies SARS-CoV-2.

The current outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)in China threatened humankind worldwide. The coronaviruses contains the largest RNA genome among all other known RNA viruses, therefore the disease etiology can be understood by analyzing the genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2. In this study, we used an ab-intio based computational tool VMir to scan the complete geno...

Coronavirus in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
In November 2002, an outbreak of a life-threatening ‘atypical pneumonia’ for which no etiological agent could be identified occurred in Guangdong Province, China. In March 2003, a similar outbreak was reported in Hong Kong [1]. Cases of similar respiratory illness were subsequently reported globally including China, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Canada and USA. This syndrome is a new clinical ent...
متن کاملSevere acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection inhibition using spike protein heptad repeat-derived peptides.
The coronavirus SARS-CoV is the primary cause of the life-threatening severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). With the aim of developing therapeutic agents, we have tested peptides derived from the membrane-proximal (HR2) and membrane-distal (HR1) heptad repeat region of the spike protein as inhibitors of SARS-CoV infection of Vero cells. It appeared that HR2 peptides, but not HR1 peptides, w...
متن کاملInactivation of the coronavirus that induces severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS-CoV.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a life-threatening disease caused by a novel coronavirus termed SARS-CoV. Due to the severity of this disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that manipulation of active viral cultures of SARS-CoV be performed in containment laboratories at biosafety level 3 (BSL3). The virus was inactivated by ultraviolet light (UV) at 254 nm, heat tr...
