The higher-dimensional origin of five-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 gauged supergravities

A bstract Using exceptional generalised geometry, we classify which five-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} N = 2 gauged supergravities can arise as a consistent truncation of 10-/11-dimensional supergravity. Exceptional geometry turns the classification into an algebraic problem finding subgroups G S ⊂ USp(8) E 6(6) that preserve exactly two spinors. Moreover, intrinsic torsion structure must contain only constant singlets under , and these, in turn, determine gauging theory. The resulting theories are strongly constrained: their scalar manifolds necessarily symmetric spaces small number matter multiplets be kept, completely enumerate.
