The Hierarchical Rater Thresholds Model for Multiple Raters and Multiple Items

چکیده
Abstract In educational measurement, various methods have been proposed to infer student proficiency from the ratings of multiple items (e.g., essays) by raters. However, suitable models quickly become numerically demanding or even unfeasible as separate latent variables are needed account for local dependencies between same response. Therefore, in present paper we derive a flexible approach based on Thurstone’s law categorical judgment. The advantage this is that it can be fit using weighted least squares estimation which computationally less compared most previous approaches case an increasing number variables. addition, new applied existing variable modeling software. We illustrate model real dataset Trends International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMMSS) comprising 10 4 raters 150 subjects. compare including facet model, hierarchical rater class model.

An economic production model for deteriorating items and time dependent demand with rework and multiple production setups
Recently, much emphasis has given to study the control and maintenance of production inventories of the deteriorating items. Rework is one of the main issues in reverse logistic and green supply chain, since it can reduce production cost and the environmental problem. Many researchers have focused on developing rework model, but few of them have developed model for deteriorating items. Due to t...
متن کاملApproaching expert results using a hierarchical cerebellum parcellation protocol for multiple inexpert human raters
Volumetric measurements obtained from image parcellation have been instrumental in uncovering structure-function relationships. However, anatomical study of the cerebellum is a challenging task. Because of its complex structure, expert human raters have been necessary for reliable and accurate segmentation and parcellation. Such delineations are time-consuming and prohibitively expensive for la...
متن کاملInterrater reliability of algometry in measuring pressure pain thresholds in healthy humans, using multiple raters.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate interrater reliability using 5 newly trained observers in the assessment of pressure pain threshold (PPT) using a fixed-angle algometer. METHODS The study design comprised 2 phases. Phase 1: 5 undergraduate physical therapists were trained in algometry at a predefined angle, at a rate of 5 Newtons (N)/s, to the first dorsal interosseous muscle. Each observer then underwe...
متن کاملMultiagent auctions for multiple items
Available resources can often be limited with regard to the number of demands. In this paper we propose an approach for solving this problem using the mechanisms of multi-item auctions for allocating the resources to a set of software agents. We consider the resource allocation problem as a market with vendor and buyer agents participating in a multi-item auction. The agents exhibit different a...
متن کاملThe Hierarchical Rater Model for Rated Test Items and Its Application to Large-Scale Educational Assessment Data
Single and multiple ratings of test items have become a stock component of standardized educational tests and surveys. For both formative and summative evaluation of raters, a number of multiple-read rating designs are now commonplace (Wilson and Hoskens, 1999), including designs with as many as six raters per item (e.g. Sykes, Heidorn and Lee, 1999). As digital image based distributed rating b...
