Geometric Weil representation: local field case
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic > 2, F = k((t)) and G = Sp 2d . In this paper we propose a geometric analog of the Weil representation of the metaplectic group G̃(F ). This is a category of perverse sheaves on some stack, on which G̃(F ) acts by functors. This construction will be used in [5] (and subsequent publications) for the proof of the geometric Langlands functoria...
متن کاملO ct 2 00 6 THE GEOMETRIC WEIL REPRESENTATION
In this paper we construct a geometric analogue of the Weil representation over a finite field. Our construction is principally invariant, not choosing any specific realization. This eliminates most of the unpleasant formulas that appear in the traditional (non-invariant) approaches, and puts in the forefront some delicate geometric phenomena which underlie this representation.

متن کاملThe Weil Representation
This is my senior honors thesis done in my final year as an undergraduate at Stanford University, under the direction of Professor Akshay Venkatesh. We will construct the Weil representation of SL2(R) through a natural action of the Heisenberg group Heis(R) on the space of square-integrable complex-valued functions L 2(R), together with the celebrated Stone-von Neumann theorem of functional ana...
متن کاملThe Segal-Shale-Weil (oscillator) representation
The objects called oscillator representations are decades old, originally developed by physicists for their own purposes. For example, [Weyl 1928], [Stone 1930], [vonNeumann 1931]. Detailed study of the infinitedimensional representation theory of small classical groups appeared first in [Wigner 1939], [Bargmann 1947]. A more modern treatment of oscillator representations began with [Shale 1962...
