The Frequency of Phantom Vibration Syndrome in Medical Staff: A Cross Sectional Survey

Introduction: Phantom vibration syndrome, also known as hypovibochondria or ring-xiety, may occur among individuals carrying digital devices. syndrome is the mistaken belief that a device vibrating when it not. The current study investigates this phenomenon medical staff who often interact with devices throughout duty hours. Objective: objective of was to determine frequency in staff. Methods: A cross-sectional survey conducted. convenience sample 150 physicians, surgeons, allied health professionals, and assistants used. Online invitations were sent by email, WhatsApp, other channels. data analysed SPSS 25.0. Fisher exact test used compare phantom vibrations categorical data. Results: results showed out 190 staff, there 133 (72.7%) having syndrome. It significantly associated (p=0.000) younger age groups from 21-40 year, seen more surgeon, physicians then nurses (p=0.029), cell phone (p=0.003), breast back pocket (p=0.001), keeping on always most time (p=0.008) using 11-15 hours (p=0.001). equally distributed both male females (p=0.176) Conclusion: concluded highly prevalent findings length product decreasing order. respondents regarded feelings bothersome worth stopping even changing device.
