چکیده

In-depth knowledge about soil moisture dynamics is crucial for irrigation management in precision agriculture. This study evaluates the feasibility of high spatial resolution near-infrared remote sensing with unmanned aerial systems estimation to provide decision support management. A new trapezoid model based on transformed reflectance (NTR) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) introduced used mapping root zone plant extractable water. The performance proposed approach was evaluated via comparison ground measurements advanced time domain reflectometry sensors. We found estimates NTR−NDVI be highly correlated measurements. believe that presented shows great potential farm-scale but acknowledge more research different cropping systems, textures, climatic conditions needed make viable application by crop producers.

Uncertainty Characterisation in Remotely Sensed Soil Moisture

Cover: A convective thunderstorm arrives near the small town of Hombori (Mali) during the AMMA field campaign (August 2005). This region is located in the Sahel, a transition zone between the Sahara and the Sudanian Savannas and stretches across the African continent. In this region, the spatial distribution of soil moisture affects the regional climate system including the spatial distribution...

An unmixing algorithm for remotely sensed soil moisture

[1] We present an unmixing method, based on genetic algorithm-soil-vegetationatmosphere-transfer modeling to extract subgrid information of soil and vegetation from remotely sensed soil moisture (downscaled; e.g., soil hydraulic properties, area fractions of soil-vegetation combinations, and unmixed soil moisture time series) that most land surface models use. The unmixing method was evaluated ...

Estimating live fuel moisture content from remotely sensed reflectance

Fuel moisture content (FMC) is used in forest fire danger models to characterise the moisture status of the foliage. FMC expresses the amount of water in a leaf relative to the amount of dry matter and differs from measures of leaf water content which express the amount of water in a leaf relative to its area. FMC is related to both leaf water content and leaf dry matter content, and the relati...

An evaluation of remotely sensed soil moisture over Australia

Soil moisture is an important control over atmospheric evolution, since it controls the partition of incoming radiation into latent and sensible heating. To accurately model these land surface fluxes, atmospheric models must ultimately have accurate soil moisture fields. Yet soil moisture is typically initialised indirectly in Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models, frequently resulting in u...

Development of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) calibration model for estimation of oil content in a worldwide safflower germplasm collection

The development of NIRS calibration model as a rapid, precise, robust, and cost-effective method to estimate oil content in ground seeds of worldwide safflower germplasm collection grown under different agro-climatic conditions was the key objective of this research project. The oil content was measured by accelerated solvent extraction method in a total of 328 samples collected across 2004 (16...
