Despite the Haber-Bosch process being more than 100 years old, only incremental improvements have been achieved until recently. Now, by combining catalyst expertise of CLARIANT and engineering knowledge CASALE, a breakthrough has realized. AmoMax®-Casale is new ammonia synthesis jointly developed Casale Clariant particularly for use in converters. customized evolution well-known, wustite-based catalyst, AmoMax® 10. While retaining same superior resistance to ageing, poisoning mechanical strength, significantly active. This feature allows reduce loop recycle rate pressure and/or increase production. The higher activity contributes improve overall operating efficiency either saving energy, or increasing plant capacity. article will describe detail successful development AmoMax®-Casale, explain advantages commercial benefits based on concrete simulations share start-up experience first reference.
