The minimally invasive approach has represented a game-changing innovation in surgery, with laparoscopy becoming core technique the colorectal field. Robotic-assisted technology was launched at dawn of new millennium, demonstrating considerable advantages compared to terms visualization, manipulation and ergonomics. This paper reviews evolution robotic over last few decades, special focus on surgery.
