چکیده
Antifungal resistance in humans, animals, and the environment is an emerging problem. Among different fungal species that can develop resistance, Candida tropicalis ubiquitous causes infections animals humans. In Asia some Latin American countries, C. among most common related to candidemia, mortality rates are usually above 40%. Fluconazole especially reported Asian countries clonal spread humans has been investigated studies. Brazil, high of azole have found environment. Multidrug still rare, but recent reports clinical multidrug-resistant isolates worrisome. The molecular apparatus antifungal majorly isolates, revealing this through conjunction adaptative mechanisms. review article, we summarize main findings regarding “One Health” approach.

Emergence of Candida tropicalis resistant to caspofungin.
Sir, Candida species is the fourth leading cause of nosocomial bloodstream infection in the USA. The incidence and mortality of invasive candidiasis (IC) remain high despite new antifungal agents. Although Candida albicans remains the most common isolated species causing IC, the incidence of IC caused by non-albicans species is increasing. Caspofungin, an echinocandin, is approved for treatment...
متن کاملNon-albicans Candida Infection: An Emerging Threat
The very nature of infectious diseases has undergone profound changes in the past few decades. Fungi once considered as nonpathogenic or less virulent are now recognized as a primary cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised and severely ill patients. Candida spp. are among the most common fungal pathogens. Candida albicans was the predominant cause of candidiasis. However, a shift ...
متن کاملCandida tropicalis as an emerging pathogen in Candida meningitis: case report and review.
Candida species are an uncommon cause of meninigitis. Given the rarity of this infection, the epidemiology, prognosis, and optimal therapy for Candida meningitis are poorly defined. The authors report on a paraplegic patient due to spinal cord injury who developed C. tropicalis meningitis. In addition, we review and discuss other reported cases of C. tropicalis meningitis in the medical literat...
متن کاملRegulation of ERG3, ERG6, and ERG11 Genes in Antifungal-Resistant isolates of Candida parapsilosis
Background: Candida parapsilosis is one of the five common strains of yeasts involved in invasive candidiasis. The expression analysis of sterol biosynthesis pathway genes, which are associated with resistance, can assist the better understanding of antifungal resistance mechanisms. Methods: The antifungal susceptibility of 120 clinical C. parapsilosis isolates was examined. The changes in the ...
