The Effectiveness of Normalising Neurotrophic Signaling as Treatment Strategies for Huntington’s Disease
نویسندگان
چکیده
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is an inherited neurodegenerative disorder. It established that BDNF deficiency and the imbalance of p75NTR/TrkB expression are responsible for striatal atrophy in HD patients, which collectively provide a molecular explanation to most significant hallmark symptom - Chorea. Hence, normalising neurotrophin receptor signalings can be will effective treatment option due potential ameliorative effects it may have on neuropathological, physiological conditions patients.

Huntington's disease (HD) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease caused by an extended polyglutamine tract in the huntingtin protein. Circadian, sleep and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis disturbances are observed in HD as early as 15 years before clinical disease onset. Disturbances in these key processes result in increased cortisol and altered melatonin release which may negatively im...
