THE EFFECTIVENESS OF KANGAROO MOTHER CARE (KMC) USING METKA INFANT SLING ON INCREASED TEMPERATURE OF LOW-BIRTH WEIGHT BABIES (LBW)

<p><strong>Introduction:</strong> Weight is one indicator of newborn health. Babies born with low weight need serious treatment because in this condition the baby easily got hypothermic. As much as 40.5 percent infant deaths Central Java Province 2019 were also caused by LBW. Efforts to maintain baby's body temperature LBW still develop low-cost technology so that hypothermia does not occur.</p><p><strong>Methods</strong><strong>:</strong> This study aimed determine effectiveness kangaroo mother care (KMC) using a <em>metka</em> sling on increasing babies. type quantitative research was quasi-experimental method used two-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. number samples 30 respondents according specified criteria. instrument digital thermometer where only placed armpit.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> result showed there significant p <0.05.</p><p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> conclusion Giving considered very effective meeting basic needs such warmth, breast milk, protection from infection, stimulation, safety, and affection.</p>
