THE EFFECT OF BRASS (Cu-Zn) CATALYTIC CONVERTER ENGINE PERFORMANCE

نویسندگان

چکیده

Installing a catalytic converter in the exhaust is typical method of reducing engine emissions. Catalytic converters have been shown to lower pollutants while enhancing performance. The influence number brass catalyst plates (Cu-Zn) on Performance commercial Yamaha Jupiter MX motorcycle manufactured 2007 was investigated this study. installed motorbike exhaust, with varying between 5 and 8, conventional uncatalyzed serving as comparison. Torque, power, specific fuel consumption, thermal efficiency are among performance factors that will be considered. A prony brake dynamometer used conduct torque power measurements. results indicate eight can improve more than an five plates. Furthermore, exhausts equipped boost by average 17.65%. Thus, increasing improves machine's efficiency.

Estimate the Performance of Catalytic Converter Using Turbulence Induce Devices

In this manuscript, the experimental setup was designed and fabricated for optimizing the parameters of a catalytic converter of INDICA V2 exhaust system. Three turbulence intensify devices, namely Swirl Venturi, Swirl Blades and Swirl Contour, were close-fitted before the catalytic converter. The heating element is embedded in its body and thermocouples are used for knowing the performance at ...

Contribution to the knowledge of the Cu–Sn–Zn system for compositions close to brass alloys

The effect of tin content in the equilibrium phases of the Cu–Zn-based alloys, within the range of chemical compositions with interest to brass producers is described. For this purpose, ternary alloys with copper contents between 55.4 and 67.5 wt.% and tin contents up to 5.30 wt.% have been studied. The chemical composition of each alloy has been determined by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (X...

Elastocaloric effect in Cu - Zn

This work aims to study the elastocaloric effect in a Cu-Al-Zn shape memory alloy sample. The elastocaloric effect refers to the reversible thermal response (isothermal entropy change, or adiabatic temperature change) of a body when subjected to a uniaxial stress. To measure the entropy change of the martensitic transformation, differential scanning calorimetry technique has been used. The calo...

Catalytic Decomposition of N2O over Cu–Zn/ZnAl2O4 Catalysts

The catalytic decomposition of N2O was investigated over Cu-Zn/ZnAl2O4 catalysts in the temperature range of 400–650 ◦C Catalytic samples have been prepared by wet impregnation method. Prepared catalysts were characterized using several techniques like BET surface area, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Cu-Zn/ZnAl2O4 showed higher catalytic performance along w...
