چکیده
In this paper, the fluid–structure interaction of floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) platforms under complex ocean conditions is investigated using OpenFOAM and in-house developed models. Two types FOWT platform, i.e., a semi-submersible platform barge are studied for their dynamic responses to either wave or current. The results reveal that exhibits larger cross-flow motion lock-in phenomenon, while experiences smaller with no significant within velocity range examined. combined wave–current further different angles between current, current speeds, parameters. Unlike other investigations focusing on colinear interaction, in which waves usually mitigate vortex-induced (VIM); here, we find might lead an enhanced VIM large angle wave. evaluation effect factor shows largest height region does not most dangerous scenario, herein, motion. Effect of Platform Surge Motion on the Performance of 5MW NREL Offshore Floating Wind Turbine
In this study, an unsteady aerodynamic simulation is performed to realize the influences of platform surge motion on the aerodynamic performance of a high capacity offshore floating wind turbine. A dynamic model with pitch angle control system is utilized to propose a more realistic model of wind turbine and also achieve the rated condition of the rotor. The transient effect of platform surge m...
متن کاملDynamic Analysis of Offshore Wind Turbine Towers with Fixed Monopile Platform Using the Transfer Matrix Method
In this paper, an analytical method for vibrations analysis of offshore wind turbine towers with fixed monopile platform is presented. For this purpose, various and the most general models including CS, DS and AF models are used for modeling of wind turbine foundation and axial force is modeled as a variable force as well. The required equations for determination of wind turbine tower response ...
متن کاملWind-wave induced dynamic response analysis for motions and mooring loads of a spar-type offshore floating wind turbine
Due to the energy crisis and the environmental issues like pollution and global warming, the exploration for renewable and clean energies becomes crucial. The offshore floating wind turbines (OFWTs) draw a great deal of attention recently as a means to exploit the steadier and stronger wind resources available in deep water seas. This paper studies the hydrodynamic characteristics of a spar-typ...

متن کاملIndividual Blade Pitch Control of a Floating Offshore Wind Turbine on a Tension Leg Platform
A disturbance accommodating controller (DAC) to reject wind speed perturbations is applied on a 5MW wind turbine mounted on a tension leg platform (TLP). Multi-blade coordinate (MBC) transformation is used to address the periodicity of the floating wind turbine system. A method to apply DAC after applying MBC transformation is developed and several implementation options are presented. Simulati...
