چکیده

Abstract Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes deaths worldwide. Currently, chemotherapy primary way for colorectal cancer, but with severe side effects. Therefore, it urgent to find safer and more effective adjuvant treatment methods. At present, natural active substances are promising alternatives, as numerous studies have demonstrated possible synergistic anticancer effects in plant‐active polyphenols. In present study, combined effect procyanidins (PC) (from peanut skin) resveratrol (RES) buds) on potential was investigated. CACO‐2 HCT‐8 cells were served models, HEPG‐2 HUH‐7 liver models observe PC RES alone or combination growth proliferation these four types cells. The results revealed that both could inhibit cells’ a manner concentration‐dependent, they exerted only synergistically cell clone formation, inducing apoptosis blocking their cycle G0/G1 phase. Additionally, observed by Western blot assay, also inhibited phosphorylation Thr308, Ser473, ERK promoted IKBα NF‐κB These findings collectively indicate might exert regulating AKT, ERK, signaling pathways.

Quercetin induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in CD133+ cancer stem cells of human colorectal HT29 cancer cell line and enhances anticancer effects of doxorubicin

Objective(s):The colorectal cancer stem cells (CSCs) with the CD133+ phenotype are a rare fraction of cancer cells with the ability of self-renewal, unlimited proliferation and resistance to treatment. Quercetin has anticancer effects with the advantage of exhibiting low side effects. Therefore, we evaluated the anticancer effects of quercetin and doxorubicin (Dox) in HT29 cancer cells and its ...
