The Climate Just City

Cities are increasingly impacted by climate change, driving the need for adaptation and sustainable development. Local global economic socio-cultural influence also city redevelopment. This, fundamentally political, development highlights issues of who pays gains, decides how, who/what is to be valued. Climate change has primarily been informed science, but discourse widened include social sciences, subjecting practices political analysis critique. In this article, we critically discuss just concept in a context. We develop describing discussing key theoretical themes politically justice-oriented cities. illustrate our arguments looking at recent case studies three very different contexts: Port Vila, Baltimore City, Karlstad. conclude that context with its power asymmetries must given central position understanding distribution risks vulnerabilities when studying cities from justice perspective.
