Any inquiry into the condition of churches to-day must consider gulf existing between church and working class. We hardly realize, I think, that by a great section proletariat our religious organizations are regraded as stronghold hypocrisy oppression. realize bitterness these workers fell toward us they repeat once again: “Woe unto you, scribes Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, pretence make long prayers. Therefore, shall receive greater damnation.”
