چکیده
Purpose : to develop approaches differentiated substitution therapy in patients with dry eye (DE) of mild and moderate severity. Patients methods . We examined 86 DE (22–45 years old; 38 men, 48 women). Group-1 included 54 (54 eyes) under conditions combined lipid-mucose-deficiency, group-2 32 (32 against the background lipid-aqua-mucose-deficiency. Conducted: symptoms registration (OSDI scale); Norn Shirmer-1 tests; OCT meniscometry; assessment Bijsterveld xerosis index ‘lid-vipers’ symptom identification; Norn’s compression test. To effectiveness, both groups were divided into subgroups. subgroup 1.1 (18 carried out ‘fat-water’ type emulsion instillations, 1.2 — 0.15 % sodium hyaluronate instillation (Hylabak®), 1.3 3.0 trehalose (Thealoz®) 1–2 drops, 4 times a day. All persons group-1 additionally recommended apply 5.0 dexpanthenol gel at night. 2.1 (16 received 2.2 (Hylabak®) ointment vitamin A The main criterion for effectiveness was tear film brake up time (TBUT, s) two months after start treatment. Statistical processing included: calculation mean its standard deviation (M ± s); significance differences (Wilcoxon’s t-test, KruskalWallis test, Mann-Whitney U-test). Results In following TBUT dynamics recorded: from 5.4 0.5 6.2 0.6 s (p < 0.05); 5.2 0.4 6.6 5.3 7.1 0.7 0.05). most pronounced increase noted (trehalose instillation). group-2, was: 3.5 0.3 4.7 3.4 0.2 significantly more (sodium Conclusion our opinion, replacement may be lipid-mucose-deficiency bioprotector based on (Thealose®); case lipid-aqua-mucose-deficiency combination (Thealoz®).

متن کاملDry Eye Management: Targeting the Ocular Surface Microenvironment
Dry eye can damage the ocular surface and result in mild corneal epithelial defect to blinding corneal pannus formation and squamous metaplasia. Significant progress in the treatment of dry eye has been made in the last two decades; progressing from lubricating and hydrating the ocular surface with artificial tear to stimulating tear secretion; anti-inflammation and immune regulation. With the ...
متن کاملClusterin Seals the Ocular Surface Barrier in Mouse Dry Eye
Dry eye is a common disorder caused by inadequate hydration of the ocular surface that results in disruption of barrier function. The homeostatic protein clusterin (CLU) is prominent at fluid-tissue interfaces throughout the body. CLU levels are reduced at the ocular surface in human inflammatory disorders that manifest as severe dry eye, as well as in a preclinical mouse model for desiccating ...

PURPOSE To evaluate to effect of experimental dry eye on ocular surface apoptosis. METHODS Aqueous tear production and clearance were inhibited by systemic administration of scopolamine and exposure to an air draft for 12 days in 4- to 6-week-old 129SvEv/CD-1 mixed white mice. Eyes and ocular adnexa were excised, cryosectioned, and evaluated for apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transfer...
متن کاملPreliminary Effects of Oral Uridine on the Ocular Surface in Dry Eye Patients
We designed a randomized, double blinded, 3-months controlled prospective clinical study to investigate effects of oral uridine on the ocular surface in dry eye patients. Twenty-seven patients who diagnosed as dry eye with lower than 5 mm of wetting in the Schirmer strip, with corneal epithelial erosion and who completely followed-up till 3 months were enrolled. Corneal-conjunctival fluorescein...
