The Characteristics of Waterlogging in the Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration from 2007 to 2019

With the advancement of urbanization, waterlogging disasters in China’s urban areas have increased significantly, especially Pearl River Delta region. Based on literature published by government departments, this study analyzed characteristics region from 2007 to 2019. The results show that frequency and intensity Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are very high. types rainfall cause flooding mainly include strong convection, frontal rain typhoon rain. In Guangzhou, causes can be divided into external internal causes. extremely heavy tidal outer river. hydrological effect low standard drainage system, insufficient function flood drainage, poor management control projects. These information determined facilitates reasonable mitigation measures developed at most critical locations
