Background: Mandibular fractures may lead to several complications, including infection, nonunion, malunion, and temporomandibular joint ankylosis. The incidence of mandibular is quite common in maxillofacial trauma. characteristics mandible could be different among countries concerning the condition population. etiological differences depend on age, demographic patterns a country, environmental conditions, social socioeconomic status cultural configuration. This study aimed perceive characteristic patients attending Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital during 2017- 2020.Methods: was retrospective descriptive study. Samples included medical records with January December 2020. were chosen using inclusion exclusion criteria. fracture based gender, etiology, location, treatment.Results: presented that rate higher males 284 cases (82.08%) than females 62 (17.92%) ratio 4.5 1. Based often found adult age group (20-60 years old) 215 (62.14%). most etiology road traffic accidents, 287 (82.95%). Parasymphisis region site 94 (25.26%). Most treatments performed open reduction internal fixation 199 (57.51%).Conclusion: vary considerably populations depending status. frequent Bandung parasymphisis young group.
