چکیده
The primary goal of the Carnegie Chicago Hubble Program (CCHP) is to calibrate zero-point Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) Diagram through use Population II standard candles. So far, CCHP has measured direct distances 11 SNe Ia, and here we increase that number 15 with two new TRGB NGC 5643 1404, for a total 20 SN calibrators. We present resolved, point-source photometry from Space Telescope (HST) imaging these galaxies in F814W F606W bandpasses. From each galaxy's stellar halo, construct an F814W-band luminosity function which detect unambiguous edge feature identified as Tip Red Giant Branch (TRGB). For 5643, find $\mu_0 = 30.48\pm0.03(stat)\pm0.07(sys) $ mag, 1404 \mu_0=31.36\pm 0.04(stat)\pm 0.05(sys)$ mag. preliminary consideration galaxies, increased confidence results presented Paper VIII (Freedman et al. 2019). high precision our enables significant measurement 3D displacement between Fornax Cluster 1316 (Fornax A) equal $1.50^{+0.25}_{-0.39}$ Mpc, show agreement independent literature constraints.

Tip of the Red Giant Branch Distances to NGC 4214 , UGC 685 , and UGC 5456 1
We have used WFPC2 V RI observations to calculate the distances to three nearby galaxies, NGC 4214, UGC 685, and UGC 5456 using the tip of the red giant branch method. Our values for NGC 4214 (2.94 ± 0.18 Mpc) and UGC 685 (4.79 ± 0.30 Mpc) are the most precise measurementes of the distances to these objects ever made. For UGC 5456 the data do not allow us to reach a decisive conclusion since th...
متن کاملMetallicity-corrected Tip of the Red Giant Branch Distance to Ngc 4258
We have determined the distance to NGC 4258 using observations made with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the Wide Field, Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS/WFC). We apply a modified technique that fully accounts for metallicity effects on the use of the luminosity of the tip of the red giant branch (TRGB) to determine one of the most precise TRGB distance moduli to date: μ(TRGB) = 29.28± 0.0...
متن کاملTip of the Red Giant Branch distances to galaxies with composite stellar populations
The accurate determination of galaxy relative distances is extremely important for the empirical calibration of the uncertain metallicity dependence of some standard candles like Cepheid stars, or for studying the galaxy space distribution and peculiar velocities. Here we have investigated the reliability of the widely used I-band Tip of the Red Giant Branch (TRGB) relative distances for a samp...
متن کاملROSAT - HRI observations of the NGC 1399 / NGC 1404 region : morphology and structure of the X - ray halo
We present the analysis of a deep (167 ks) ROSAT HRI observation of the cD galaxy NGC 1399 in the Fornax cluster, comparing it with previous work on this galaxy and with recent Chandra data. We find, in agreement with previous observations, an extended and asymmetric gaseous halo with a luminosity (in the 0.1-2.4 keV energy band) of L X = (5.50±0.04)×10 41 erg s −1 within 46 kpc (assuming a dis...
متن کاملThe Chemical Composition of Red Giant Branch Stars in the Galactic Globular Clusters Ngc
We present radial velocities and chemical abundances for red giant branch stars in the Galactic bulge globular clusters NGC 6342 and NGC 6366. The velocities and abundances are based on measurements of high resolution (R & 20,000) spectra obtained with the MMT–Hectochelle and WIYN–Hydra spectrographs. We find that NGC 6342 has a heliocentric radial velocity of +112.5 km s (σ = 8.6 km s), NGC 63...
