چکیده
Abstract Objective Previous studies showed that increased urinary Beta 2-microglobulin (β2-M) level is associated with fetal inflammatory response and successfully predict bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). We aimed to investigate the clinical utility of serum β2-M levels BPD in preterm infants. Method Infants born between May November 2018 whose gestational age (GA) was <32 weeks were included into study. During routine blood work first couple hours life an extra 0.5 mL drawn study later on. compared infants who developed or not. Results Data analysis 111 performed. Out infants, 37 died before diagnosis out rest 74 38 (34.2%) diagnosed BPD. Mean GA 28 ± 1.8 29.9 1.4 ( p < 0.01) mean birth weights (BW) 1,086 316 1,395 348 g group without respectively. Demographic characteristics two groups similar. While white cell count, CRP IL-6 similar both groups, significantly higher (4.84 1.0 3.79 0.95 mg/L, = 0.01). Furthermore a weak correlation observed r 0.23, 0.04). Conclusion Serum which obtained early postnatal could developing Monitoring have high risk factors for development may provide additional benefit predicting

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) continues to be the most common and most important complication in preterm infants with RDS. The incidence varies from 20 to 60 % in preterm infants whose weight are < 1500 gram. The presence of BPD is often associated with significant mortality and short term and long term morbidity, including growth failure and neurodevelopment delay. The exact mechanism and p...

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is the most common chronic respiratory disease that results from complications related to the lung injury during the treatment of respiratory distress syndrome, or develops in older infants when abnormal lung growth occurs. The definition and classification of BPD have changed since the original diagnosis was established many years ago. The incidence of BPD cont...

Introduction Many advances in neonatology in the last several decades have allowed for the resuscitation, support, and survival of more preterm infants. The mortality associated with respiratory disease in this population of micropremies has been altered significantly by the use of antenatal corticosteroids, postnatal surfactant, improved respiratory support technology, and enhanced nutritional...

OBJECTIVE To present a wide-ranging review of the literature on broncopulmonary dysplasia, covering new definitions, pathophysiology, prevention, treatment, prognosis and progression. SOURCES OF DATA The most relevant articles published on the subject since it was first described in 1967 were selected from MEDLINE search results. SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS Bronchopulmonary dysplasia is conside...
متن کاملAssociation between Red Blood Cell Transfusion and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Preterm Infants
Anemia and the need for transfusion of packed red blood cells (PRBCs) are common in preterm infants. PRBC transfusion increases the oxygen carrying capacity of hemoglobin and may result in higher rates of organ dysfunction. To determine whether PRBC transfusion in preterm infants is associated with an increased incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), this retrospective study was performe...
