Abstract This study presents a detailed analysis of the narrative Goyama and ascetics Mount Aṭṭhāvaya in Āvaśyaka Cūrṇi , including text translation. By identifying range themes, intertexts allusions narrative, variety Jain perspectives on nature asceticism are uncovered. Topics covered include as “commentary”, Niryukti background to some possible Śaiva significance Goyama’s physical appearance, explanation canonical story Puṃḍarīa, power bestowing limitless food. In addition told its earliest metrical version Uttarādhyayana is discussed translated well.
