Background: Italy was one of the first European Countries to deal with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, since its appearance in China. The virus spread from northern regions central and southern ones different intensity. Drastic emergency restrictions were introduced including quarantine self-isolation measures. Initially, these limited Northern then extended nationwide. Italian Health System is organized on a regional basis funding, resources, institutional pathways. Care Professionals (HCPs) working clinically demanding areas such as Emergency Departments Intensive Units are at high risk developing physical/mental health outcomes related pandemic, stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders burn-out symptoms (Luo et al., 2020). Nurses Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) caring for complex immune-compromised patients, being hospitalized long period without seeing relatives. However, it not known if nurses HSCT settings experience similar problems during pandemic. aim study investigate physical psychological issues among COVID-19 spread. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted between June August 2020 through an online questionnaire sent centers registered GITMO (Gruppo Italiano per il Trapianto Midollo Osseo). Data collected immediately after lockdown (during phase 2, consisting progressive reduction measures) order to:-investigate prevalence burnout validated tools: Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), respectively.-explore significant correlations other variables geographical (Northern Italy-NIT vs Central Sothern Italy-CSIT) according incidence, Statistical analysis performed using Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) toolbox version 2008 (MathWorks, Natick, MA, USA). Results: Three hundred eight 61 responded survey: 214 NIT 94 CSIT. responding CSIT older (mean 47, p = 0.0001) male (74.5%, < 0.0001). More did have children compared those CIST (49.5% 30.9%, 0.0023). Symptoms like anxiety depression more frequently reported by than (NIT 27.7% 12.6%, 0.0013). MBI results: low level emotional exhaustion (median score: 14.0 12.0 respectively) depersonalization (3.0 4.0);medium personal accomplishment (36.0 34.5) differences groups. Worst quality detected nurse (global PSQI score 7.6 6.5;p 0.008) main duration (p 0.006), disturbance 0.03), need medication 0.001). Conclusions: Despite cited disease incidence infection, pandemic appear impact nurses' or burnout. Greater suggests that factors influencing this issue.
