THAI STUDENTS’ AWARENESS ATTITUDES OF GLOBAL ENGLISHES PEDAGOGY AND TARGET INTERLOCUTOR

The widespread use of English as a world language has caused changes in the sociolinguistic reality speakers, use, and English-speaking societies. No paradigm been able to completely capture account for such given current changes. In order reflect realities today, researchers have advocated shift from traditional pedagogy new that can prepare students intercultural communication incorporate multiple varieties cultures. attitudes 20 Thai major who successfully completed one-semester Global teaching course were investigated using questionnaire interview data. analysis included both quantitative qualitative methods descriptive statistics content analysis, respectively. results demonstrated 15-week GE-informed significantly improved student views toward GE awareness. further reported should be viewed serving varied communicative needs among different multilingual users not just native target interlocutors.
