Testing One Hypothesis Multiple Times

چکیده

In applied settings, tests of hypothesis where a nuisance parameter is only identifiable under the alternative often reduces into one Testing One Hypothesis Multiple times (TOHM). Specifically, fine discretization space non-identifiable specified, and null tested against set sub-alternative hypothesis, for each point discretization. The resulting sub-test statistics are then combined to obtain global p-value. this paper, we discuss computationally efficient inferential tool perform TOHM stringent significance requirements, such as those typically required in physical sciences, (e.g., p-value $<10^{-7}$). procedure leads generalized approach inference non-standard conditions, including non-nested models comparisons.

A New Procedure for Multiple One-Sided Hypothesis Testing

Hypothesis testing plays a significant role in diagnostic checking of econometrics models. In terms of testing based on multiple test statistics, King et al. (2008) presented a new procedure, which involves estimating the joint density of the vector of test statistics under the null hypothesis through bootstrapping and approximating the p value using this estimated density through Monte Carlo s...

Mdl Multiple Hypothesis Testing

This paper examines the problem of simultaneously testing many independent multiple hypotheses within the minimum encoding framework. We introduce an efficient coding scheme for nominating the accepted hypotheses in addition to compressing the data given these hypotheses. This formulation reveals an interesting connection between multiple hypothesis testing and mixture modelling with the class ...

Pitfalls of statistical hypothesis testing: multiple testing.

The word " five " is missing from the third sentence of the fifth paragraph in the online answers to this Endgames article by Philip Sedgwick (BMJ 2014;349:g5310, doi:10.1136/bmj. g5310). The sentence should have read: " For example, the probability of a significant result when there are two, three, four, and five hypothesis tests is 0.

Multiple Hypothesis Testing: A Review

Simultaneous inference was introduced as a statistical problem as early as the mid-twentieth century, and it has been recently revived due to advancements in technology that result in the increasing availability of data sets containing a high number of variables. This paper provides a review of some of the significant contributions made to the field of multiple hypothesis testing, and includes ...

P 4: The Hypothesis Detect Multiple Sclerosis in Early Stage with Saliva Testing

Introduction: Recent studies point to the clinical and research efficacy of saliva as a respected diagnostic aid for observing Multiple Sclerosis. The objectives of this Hypothesis are to identify novel biomarkers recognized to Multiple Sclerosis in early stage in saliva and to determine if the levels of these markers correlate with level of these Cerebrospinal fluid and blood assays and urine ...
