چکیده
Abstract Atom interferometers have been developed in the last three decades as new powerful tools to investigate gravity. They were used for measuring gravity acceleration, gradient, and gravity-field curvature, determination of gravitational constant, investigation at microscopic distances, test equivalence principle general relativity theories modified gravity, probe interplay between quantum physics models, search dark matter energy, they proposed detectors observation waves. Here I describe past ongoing experiments with an outlook on what think are main prospects this field potential physics.

Prospects for atom interferometry
Atom interferometers were ® rst realized ten years ago, and since then have evolved from beautiful demonstrations of quantum physics into instruments at the leading edge of precision measurement. In this article we trace the development of atom interferometry, looking at how the physical principles have been put into practice to achieve ground-breaking experiments. We also discuss new atom opti...
متن کاملTesting Atom and Neutron Neutrality with Atom Interferometry
Introduction. Charge quantization and atom neutrality in the Standard Model (SM) are mysteries which are automatically solved when the theory is embedded in a Grand Unified group. Even then, Witten has shown [1] that in the presence of CP non-conservation magnetic monopoles acquire an electric charge that is proportional to the amount of CP violation, a non-quantized quantity. This suggests tha...
متن کاملTesting general relativity with atom interferometry.
The unprecedented precision of atom interferometry will soon lead to laboratory tests of general relativity to levels that will rival or exceed those reached by astrophysical observations. We propose such an experiment that will initially test the equivalence principle to 1 part in 10(15) (300 times better than the current limit), and 1 part in 10(17) in the future. It will also probe general r...
متن کاملAtom-interferometry tests of the isotropy of post-Newtonian gravity.
We present a test of the local Lorentz invariance of post-Newtonian gravity by monitoring Earth's gravity with a Mach-Zehnder atom interferometer that features a resolution of up to 8 x 10{-9}g/sqrt[Hz], the highest reported thus far. Expressed within the standard model extension (SME) or Nordtvedt's anisotropic universe model, the analysis limits four coefficients describing anisotropic gravit...
متن کاملAtom Interferometry for Absolute Measurements of Local Gravity
Atom interferometers have demonstrated high sensitivities in measurements of accelerations, rotations and different physical constants. In this article, we present the mobile instrument GAIN (Gravimetric Atom Interferometer) which allows to utilize this potential for high precision on-site measurements of the local gravitational acceleration. Important influences and systematics arising from bo...
