چکیده
The exposure to electromagnetic field (EMF) from phased antenna arrays integrated into wireless devices operating at the millimeter-wave (mmWave) part of spectrum should be evaluated in terms power density (PD). Two aspects related test reduction when evaluating radiation handset are considered. First, peak PD decay with distance 4-elements is analyzed. focus on finding size volume around beyond which so low that its measurement can omitted. By limiting measurements inside exposed volume, total time reduced. Antenna configurations representative for current trends technology chosen: half-wavelength dipoles and patches 26 GHz, 28 39 having inter-element spacing either 0.5? or 0.9?. second investigation aims determine critical between two operate simultaneously similar only one array operates time. study shows number tests reduced while sufficiently accurate results.

A Metamaterial-Based Handset Antenna with the SAR Reduction
A method to reduce the specific absorption rate(SAR) of the antenna for WiMAX mobile communication is proposed in this paper. The SAR reduction is achieved by miniaturizing the physical size of the antenna for the given resonance frequency by devising a metamaterial-composite rightand left-handed(CRLH) configuration-based radiator much smaller than the quarter-guided wavelength adopted a lot in...
متن کاملTest Power Reduction by Simultaneous Don’t Care Filling and Ordering of Test Patterns Considering Pattern Dependency
Estimating and minimizing the maximum power dissipation during testing is an important task in VLSI circuit realization since the power value affects the reliability of the circuits. Therefore during testing a methodology should be adopted to minimize power consumption. Test patterns generated with –D 1 option of ATALANTA contains don’t care bits (x bits). By suitable filling of don’t cares can...
متن کاملBenefits of Handset Antenna Diversity for UMTS
The benefits of receiver antenna diversity in a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) handset were studied. Two different channel models were used, one an extension to the 3GPP multipath fading channels and the other based on 3-D scattering and angular weighting via a practically realisable antenna configuration. Simulated performance benefits arising from the use of a second receiv...
متن کاملTwo-Level Spatial Multiplexing using Hybrid Beamforming Antenna Arrays for mmWave Communications
In this work, we consider a two-level hierarchical MIMO antenna array system, where each antenna of the upper level is made up of a subarray on the lower one. The concept of spatial multiplexing is applied twice in this situation: Firstly, the spatial multiplexing of a Line-of-Sight (LoS) MIMO system is exploited. It is based on appropriate (sub-)array distances and achieves multiplexing gain d...
متن کاملHandset Antenna Design: Practice and Theory
Abstract—In this paper, an attempt is made to present a theory for the design of handset antennas, which results from the long experience that the authors have in the field of handset antenna design. The proposed theory is based on the well-known skin effect and constructs the antenna using a thin wire model that represent the backbone of the final antenna. The analytical solution for the thin ...
