چکیده

Specialized metabolites are essential components in plant defence systems, serving as signalling molecules and chemical weapons against pathogens. The manipulation of metabolome or can thus be an important virulence strategy for Because their central role, give valuable insights into plant-pathogen interactions. Here, we have conducted nontargeted metabolite profiling with UPLC-ESI-qTOF-MS to investigate the metabolic changes that taken place crown tissue Fragaria vesca L. (woodland strawberry) × ananassa (Weston) Duchesne ex Rozier (garden during 48 h after Phytophthora cactorum challenge. Two P. isolates were compared: Pc407 is highly virulent F. causes rot, whereas Pc440 mildly virulent. In total, 45 differentially accumulated between treatment groups tentatively identified. Triterpenoids various lipid compounds represented. levels several triterpenoids increased upon inoculation, some them showing distinct accumulation patterns different could either inhibit stimulate growth and, therefore, triterpenoid profiles might significant impact on disease progression. Of compounds, lysophospholipids, linoleic acid linolenic most compatible - interaction. As lysophospholipids promote cell death been linked susceptibility, these involved pathogenesis rot disease. This analysis revealed potential factors contributing outcome – strawberry information valuable, it help find new breeding strategies solutions control strawberry.

Meristem culture for the elimination of the strawberry crown rot pathogen Phytophthora cactorum

Two methods to induce a symptomless infection of crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum) in stolons of three strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa) cultivars were evaluated. Spraying a 10−4 ml zoospore suspension was the most effective method, producing a mean infection rate of 12%. Meristem cultures were subsequently established from all of the inoculated stolons and tested eight weeks later for the presenc...

Specific detection of Phytophthora cactorum in diseased strawberry plants using nested polymerase chain reaction

Validated protocols for DNA purification and PCR amplification are reported for detection of Phytophthora cactorum in diseased strawberry plants. To remove PCR inhibitors, necrotic strawberry tissues were soaked in 5% alconox solution for >12 h before DNA extraction, and the extracted genomic DNA was embedded in an agarose gel chamber and subjected to electrophoresis. The purified DNA was ampli...

Reprogramming of Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) Root Transcriptome in Response to Phytophthora cactorum

Crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum) causes significant economic losses in strawberry production. The best control strategy would be to use resistant cultivars, but polygenically inherited resistance makes the breeding of the garden strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) challenging. The diploid wild strawberry Fragaria vesca Hawaii 4 genotype was shown previously to have resistance against crown rot. T...

Efficacy of Azoxystrobin, Pyraclostrobin, Potassium Phosphite, and Mefenoxam for Control of Strawberry Leather Rot Caused by Phytophthora cactorum

Efficacy of azoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, mefenoxam, and potassium phosphite for control of strawberry leather rot, caused by Phytophthora cactorum, was evaluated on a commercial farm. Foliar sprays of azoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, and potassium phosphite were applied weekly from bloom through harvest and mefenoxam was applied twice as a soil drench at early plant growth and at fruit set. All f...

Components of genetic variation for resistance of strawberry to Phytophthora cactorum estimated using segregating seedling populations and their parent genotypes

Strawberry ( Fragaria × ananassa ) seedlings from 50 bi-parental crosses among 20 elite genotypes were evaluated for resistance to Phytophthora cactorum after artificial inoculation. Plots of seedlings or runner plants were rated using a disease severity score and the percentage of stunted plants per plot. The distribution of cross means for percentages of plants with stunting was highly skewed...
