Ternary quadratic forms representing the same integers

چکیده
In 1997, Kaplansky conjectured that if two positive definite ternary quadratic forms with integer coefficients have perfectly identical integral representations, then they are isometric, both regular, or included either of families forms. this article, we prove the existence pairs representing same integers which not in Kaplansky's list.

Representations of Integers by Ternary Quadratic Forms
We investigate the representation of integers by quadratic forms whose theta series lie in Kohnen’s plus space M 3/2(4p), where p is a prime. Conditional upon certain GRH hypotheses, we show effectively that every sufficiently large discriminant with bounded divisibility by p is represented by the form, up to local conditions. We give an algorithm for explicitly calculating the bounds. For smal...
متن کاملQuadratic Forms Representing All Odd Positive Integers
We consider the problem of classifying all positive-definite integer-valued quadratic forms that represent all positive odd integers. Kaplansky considered this problem for ternary forms, giving a list of 23 candidates, and proving that 19 of those represent all positive odds. (Jagy later dealt with a 20th candidate.) Assuming that the remaining three forms represent all positive odds, we prove ...
متن کاملOn Representations of Integers by Indefinite Ternary Quadratic Forms
Let f be an indefinite ternary integral quadratic form and let q be a nonzero integer such that −qdet(f) is not a square. Let N(T, f, q) denote the number of integral solutions of the equation f(x) = q where x lies in the ball of radius T centered at the origin. We are interested in the asymptotic behavior of N(T, f, q) as T → ∞. We deduce from the results of our joint paper with Z.Rudnick that...
متن کاملRepresentation of Integers by Ternary Quadratic Forms: a Geometric Approach
In 1957 N.C. Ankeny provided a new proof of the three squares theorem using geometry of numbers. This paper generalizes Ankeny’s technique, proving exactly which integers are represented by x2 + 2y2 + 2z2 and x2 + y2 + 2z2 as well as proving su cient conditions for an integer to be represented by x2 + y2 + 3z2 and x2 + y2 + 7z2.
متن کاملRepresentation by Ternary Quadratic Forms
The problem of determining when an integral quadratic form represents every positive integer has received much attention in recent years, culminating in the 15 and 290 Theorems of Bhargava-Conway-Schneeberger and Bhargava-Hanke. For ternary quadratic forms, there are always local obstructions, but one may ask whether there are ternary quadratic forms which represent every locally represented in...
