Tensile Deformation of Si Single Crystals with Easy Glide Orientation

چکیده
Silicon single crystals were deformed in tensile tests along the [134] direction between 1173 K and 1373 K. The yield point phenomenon was observed specimens below 1273 K, while a continuous above 1323 values of work-hardening rate stage II same as those reported other crystals. Orientation maps specimen obtained by using electron backscattered diffraction method indicated that starts before Schmid factor secondary slip system became larger than primary system. Because constraint due to gripping test piece, kink bands are formed during I onset II, then stress state becomes non-uniaxial. This suggests formation triggers activation secondary, i.e., conjugate increase resolved shear on systems.

Magnetoelasticity of Fe–Si single crystals
The tetragonal magnetostriction constant, (3/2)λ100, of Fe–Si single crystals was measured and was found to be structure dependent. Similar to that of Fe–Ge single crystals, (3/2)λ100 is positive in the single phase A2 regime, becomes negative in the single phase D03 regime, and changes from positive to negative between the two regimes. Short-range order in the A2 regime decreases the magnetost...
متن کاملPseudoelastic Deformation of CuAlMn Single Crystals
Martensitic transformation associated with a tensile deformation of CuAlMn single crystals in [loo] direction was studied using in-situ transmission electron microscopy. Stress/strain curves obtained during pseudoelastic deformation of microscopic samples were slightly different fiom bulk ones due to martensite formation in the stage of stress increase and a permanent deformation during the fir...
متن کاملPlastic deformation of CoO single crystals
2014 Constant strain rate compressions along 001 > have been performed on CoO single crystals (03B5 ~ 6 x 10-5 s-1). Yield stresses and work hardening rates have been measured between 77 K and 1 400 K; CoO is very strong when compared to similar compounds. Vickers indentations have been performed on { 100 }, { 110 } and { 111 } faces around the Néel temperature, i.e. between 0 °C and 40 °C...
متن کاملPlastic deformation of single nanometer-sized crystals.
We report in situ electron microscopy observations of the plastic deformation of individual nanometer-sized Au, Pt, W, and Mo crystals. Specifically designed graphitic cages that contract under electron irradiation are used as nanoscopic deformation cells. The correlation with atomistic simulations shows that the observed slow plastic deformation is due to dislocation activity. Our results also...
متن کاملOrientation and deformation of mineral crystals in tooth surfaces.
Tooth enamel is the hardest material in the human body, and it is mainly composed of hydroxyapatite (HAp)-like mineral particles. As HAp has a hexagonal crystal structure, X-ray diffraction methods can be used to analyze the crystal structure of HAp in teeth. Here, the X-ray diffraction method was applied to the surface of tooth enamel to measure the orientation and strain of the HAp crystals. ...
