Temporal Understanding of the Water–Energy Nexus: A Literature Review

Guaranteeing reliable access to water and clean energy has been one of the most debated topics promote sustainable development, which made Water–Energy Nexus (WEN) a relevant field study. However, despite much development WEN, there are still many gaps be addressed. One these is understanding temporal features. To address this, this study aimed identify, categorize, analyze main features applied in WEN studies based on review academic publications from 2010 2021. The results showed that recent literature focused quantitative perspective, often does not provide clear motivations for their choice time, lacks role historical processes. improve research, need include more methodological diversity, enhance developments, diversify data use. presented measures chance evaluation key issues, drivers trade-offs between sectors, ground discussion besides quantification. Moreover, help scientific community better communicate broader audience.
