Temperature Effect on Early Oxidation Behavior of NiCoCrAlY Coatings: Microstructure and Phase Transformation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Initial oxidation behavior of NiCoCrAlY coating prepared by arc-ion plating has been studied in air at 900, 1000 and 1100 °C. The results showed that phase transformation from transient θ-Al2O3 to α-Al2O3 was highly related the temperature time. oxide scale initial stage mainly composed 900 Instead, more amount emerged out with increasing temperature. elemental distribution after confirmed faster chromium diffusion played an important role speedy α-Al2O3. Y segregation scale/coating interface resulted less cavity formation hence improved adherence.

EFFECT OF CURRENT DENSITY ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF PURE COBALT COATINGS OBTAINED

Pure cobalt coatings were electrodeposited on copper substrate by means of direct electric current in a chloride solution at different current densities in the range of 10-70 mA cm -2 . The surface morphology and microstructure were investigated via X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Corrosion behavior of cobalt coatings was also studied in a 3.5 wt% NaCl soluti...

Effect of Procedure Time on Microstructure and Corrosion Behavior of ZrTiO4/ZrO2 Nanocomposite Coatings by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) Applied on the Ti-6Al-4V Substrate

In this research, the effect of PEO procedure time on the distinct properties of coatings such as morphology, chemical composition, roughness and corrosion has been studied. A scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energy dispersive spectroscopy was used to study the microstructure of the coatings. In addition, x-ray diffraction (XRD) and roughness meter were used to evaluate the chemica...

Rhodium and Hafnium Influence on the Microstructure, Phase Composition, and Oxidation Resistance of Aluminide Coatings

A 0.5 μm thick layer of rhodium was deposited on the CMSX 4 superalloy by the electroplating method. The rhodium-coated superalloy was hafnized and aluminized or only aluminized using the Chemical vapour deposition method. A comparison was made of the microstructure, phase composition, and oxidation resistance of three aluminide coatings: nonmodified (a), rhodium-modified (b), and rhodiumand ha...

The Study of High Temperature Oxidation behavior of Different Microstructures of HVOF Thermally Sprayed Coatings

Improvement of thermally sprayed coating properties by microstructure modification has been considered as a significant solution. Therefore, in this research the effect of dissolved oxygen content and post heat treatment on the formation and distribution of secondary phase particles, particularly in nano-scale in the coatings during spraying and after that were studied. Ni-5 wt% Al powders were...
